Sara Haile-Mariam is a twenty-one-year-old undergraduate senior studying at NYU who credits President Obama with sparking her political curiosity and ultimately
her political activism. Throughout the 2008 presidential election Sara worked in New York as a grassroots
organizer, out-of-state coordinator, and campaign surrogate.
Since November, Sara has worked as the New York State lead of the Inaugural Committee's National Weekend of Service and is currently the Development Director for Manhattan
Young Democrats. She writes for the Huffington Post and frequently speaks on the importance of youth involvement. Her website
